Bursar – Westbrook Hay Prep School
THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS HAS NOW PASSED.
The Governors are looking to appoint a Bursar to join their Senior Leadership Team at an exciting time as the school enters the next phase of its development.
Start date by negotiation
Westbrook Hay is a thriving co-educational independent Prep school with 330 pupils from 3 -13 years located between Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire. The school’s beautiful rural location boasts 26 acres of parkland overlooking the Bourne valley, an environment within which children explore and enjoy all that childhood has to offer.
Westbrook Hay is at a particularly exciting time with a new Head, Mark Brain, starting in September 2019. The successful candidate will be in a position to make a significant contribution in shaping and implementing the future vision and strategy for the school.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Bursar will work alongside the Board of Governors and the Head on the overall strategic direction of the School. He/she will be responsible for all support staff, managing the School’s estate and facilities, finance and HR functions and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Candidates will be very welcome from inside the schools’ sector and from other industry sectors who are able to demonstrate a successful track record of senior leadership in a multi-disciplined environment. It is not essential to be a qualified accountant although a sound understanding of business and commercial financing is important, as are the wider disciplines of charity legislation, compliance, health and safety and risk management in its broadest sense.
An excellent remuneration package is on offer for the right candidate and an opportunity to utilize your leadership skills to the full where they will be really appreciated.
Interested candidates are invited to contact Nina Lambert to arrange a confidential discussion about the role: NinaLambert@rsacademics.co.uk or call her on 07764 185745
Candidates should complete the RSAcademics application form electronically (available to download to the right hand side of this page). Please also submit a covering letter in support of your application form, which should be addressed to The Chairman, Westbrook Hay Prep School.
