Head – St Albans High School for Girls
THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS HAS NOW PASSED
Mrs Jenny Brown is leaving in July 2019, after five years of innovative and inspirational leadership. The Governors seek a new Head to continue the School’s upwards trajectory.
St Albans High School for Girls is one of the leading schools in the country. Educating 1066 pupils from 4 to 18, in and around the historic city of St Albans, it has the community spirit of a local school but beats with the pulse and ambition of the capital which is only 20 minutes away by train. Pupils start at the Prep School in the leafy village of Wheathampstead five miles outside the city, then move on to the centrally located Senior School at 11. St Albans High School is an intellectually exciting place, but excellent pastoral care ensures the atmosphere is unstuffy and grounded. The School was awarded the prestigious accolade of The Sunday Times Independent Secondary School of the year 2015-16.
The successful candidate will be able to think strategically and work collaboratively, maintaining strong academic standards whilst providing opportunity, adventure and challenge, with the well-being of pupils as centre stage. This is a community where ‘intellectual ambition meets a big heart’.
